TGA ADVENTURE DROP — OFFICIAL RULES

Overview

The TGA Adventure Drop is a promotional scavenger hunt created by the Travel Goods Association. Physical cards, each bearing a unique QR code and a unique seven (7) digit code, are hidden in various locations. Finding a card and scanning its QR code reveals a prize — which may range from a gift card to gear to a travel package — and enters the card's unique code into a Grand Prize Drawing held at the annual TGA Show (see Section 6).

Full details on how the Adventure Drop works, where clues may be released, and tips for participating are available at a dedicated landing page (see Section 4). Sponsor may release hints, clues, and additional prizes throughout the Promotion Period at its sole discretion, with no obligation to do so on any fixed schedule. Clues, when released, will typically be shared through Sponsor's marketing emails and social channels — subscribing to TGA's content is the best way to stay informed, though it is not required to participate in or win the Promotion.

These Official Rules govern the Promotion. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are final in all matters relating to the Promotion.

1. Sponsor

The TGA Adventure Drop ("Promotion") is sponsored by the Travel Goods Association, 63 E 11400 S #242, Sandy, UT 84044 ("Sponsor" or "TGA").

2. Promotion Period

The Promotion begins on [START DATE] and ends on [END DATE] ("Promotion Period"). Cards ("Adventure Drops") will be hidden and made available at various physical locations during this window. Sponsor reserves the right to modify the Promotion Period at its discretion.

3. Eligibility

Open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Current and former employees, officers, and directors of Sponsor, its affiliates and subsidiaries, and the immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings, children) or those living in the same household of any current or former employee, officer, or director, are not eligible to participate or win. Void where prohibited by law.

Card Hiders and Insiders. Sponsor may engage content creators, influencers, vendors, or other guests to assist in hiding Adventure Drop cards ("Hiders"). Any individual who hides, helps hide, or otherwise has advance knowledge of the specific location of a given Adventure Drop card is not eligible to find, claim, or receive the prize associated with that specific card. This ineligibility extends to that Hider's immediate family members and close friends, or anyone else who receives the location information from the Hider, directly or indirectly. This restriction applies only to the specific card(s) a Hider has knowledge of; a Hider (and their family/friends) remains eligible to find and claim prizes on any other Adventure Drop card they did not hide or have knowledge of. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any claim it determines, in its sole discretion, was made with the benefit of insider knowledge of a card's location.

4. How to Enter / Claim a Prize

A separate landing page at [LANDING PAGE URL] describes how the Adventure Drop works and may be updated periodically with clues, hints, or announcements of new prizes at Sponsor's discretion. These Official Rules govern in the event of any conflict between the landing page and this document.

  1. Locate a physical Adventure Drop card during the Promotion Period.
  2. Scan the QR code on the card using a smartphone camera.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to reveal your prize and complete the claim form, including full name, date of birth, contact information, and mailing address.
  4. Prize claims must be submitted within [X days, e.g., 30 days] of scanning. Prizes not claimed within this window are forfeited, and Sponsor may award them to an alternate finder or retire them, at Sponsor's discretion.

There is no limit to the number of Adventure Drop cards an individual may find, scan, and claim during the Promotion Period.

First Valid Claim Governs. Each Adventure Drop card and its associated QR code may be claimed only once. Prizes are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to the first individual who scans the card's QR code and successfully completes the claim process in accordance with these Official Rules. Once a card's prize has been validly claimed, that card is void, and the QR code will no longer be redeemable — including if the physical card is left in place, re-hidden, or found again by another individual. Sponsor is not responsible for cards that remain in circulation, are re-hidden, or are found by multiple individuals after a valid claim has already been made, and has no obligation to award duplicate, replacement, or substitute prizes to subsequent finders of an already-claimed card.

5. Prizes

Prizes vary by card and may include, without limitation: cash, gift cards, travel-goods merchandise, and travel packages/trip prizes. The prize associated with a given card is randomly predetermined and fixed at the time the card is hidden; scanning a card's QR code reveals which specific prize has been assigned to that card.

  • Approximate Retail Value (ARV): Prizes range from approximately $[LOW VALUE] to $[HIGH VALUE]. Total ARV of all prizes for the Promotion is approximately $[TOTAL VALUE].
  • Odds of winning depend on the number of cards distributed and found; because every found card wins a prize, odds of winning a prize are 1:1 upon locating and validly claiming a card, but the specific prize awarded is randomly determined.
  • Travel/trip prizes are subject to blackout dates, availability, and additional restrictions, which will be disclosed to the winner at the time of claim. Trip prizes typically do not include incidental expenses (e.g., meals, transportation to/from departure point, travel insurance, excursions, lost luggage, injury, medical bills, medication, cancellations, gratuities) unless expressly stated.
  • Gift card and cash prizes will be issued electronically or by mail, at Sponsor's discretion, within [X days] of a verified claim.
  • Prizes are awarded "AS IS," with no warranty, express or implied, from Sponsor as to quality, condition, or fitness for any purpose.
  • Prizes are not transferable, not returnable, and cannot be exchanged, redeemed, or refunded for cash or any other item, unless the prize itself is cash. No substitution except at Sponsor's sole discretion, in which case a prize of equal or greater value may be substituted.

6. Grand Prize Drawing at TGA Show

In addition to the prize revealed upon scanning, each Adventure Drop card bears a unique seven (7) digit code. Every validly claimed card's code will be entered into a separate Grand Prize drawing to be held on-site at the annual TGA Show ("Grand Prize Drawing").

  • Must be present to win. The finder/claimant must be physically in attendance at the TGA Show at the time the Grand Prize Drawing is conducted in order to claim the Grand Prize. If the individual whose code is drawn is not present at the time of the drawing, that entry is forfeited, and Sponsor will conduct up to three (3) redraws to identify a code holder who is present. If no eligible, present code holder is identified after the third redraw, the Grand Prize will not be awarded and will be retained by Sponsor or, at Sponsor's discretion, awarded at a future TGA-sponsored event.
  • Proof of authenticity. The winning entrant must have physical possession of their original Adventure Drop card, bearing the matching seven (7) digit code, at the time of the drawing in order to claim the Grand Prize. Sponsor may also require government-issued photo ID matching the name submitted on the original claim, per Section 7. A code without the corresponding physical card, or a card without a verifiable matching claim record, will not be honored.
  • Attendance at the TGA Show is at the entrant's own expense; Sponsor is not responsible for travel, lodging, admission, or any other costs associated with attending the Show to claim the Grand Prize.
  • The Grand Prize will be described in official Promotion materials and/or at the TGA Show and may include, without limitation, cash, travel, or merchandise, subject to the same terms governing Prizes generally in Section 5 (awarded as-is, non-transferable, non-returnable, not exchangeable for cash unless the prize itself is cash).
  • Entrants are responsible for retaining their unique code and any confirmation of their claim in order to verify eligibility for the Grand Prize Drawing.

7. Winner Verification

Sponsor reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any finder/claimant, including requiring government-issued photo ID and proof of age and residency, before awarding any prize. Sponsor may disqualify any claim it believes, in its sole discretion, to be fraudulent, incomplete, or obtained through unauthorized means (e.g., tampering with cards, bulk-scanning by non-finders, or automated entry).

8. Taxes

All federal, state, and local taxes associated with the receipt or use of a prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners of prizes valued at $600 or more will be required to complete and submit an IRS Form W-9, and Sponsor will issue an IRS Form 1099 as required by law.

9. Publicity Release

Except where prohibited, acceptance of a prize constitutes winner's consent for Sponsor to use winner's name, city/state of residence, and likeness for promotional purposes in any media, without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.

Marketing Communications. By claiming a prize, winners will be subscribed to TGA's marketing email list to receive news, offers, and updates from Sponsor. Winners may opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in any marketing email or by contacting [PROMO EMAIL]. Opting out of marketing emails will not affect a winner's prize or its delivery.

10. General Conditions

Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Promotion if fraud, technical failure, or any factor beyond Sponsor's reasonable control impairs the integrity of the Promotion, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged, misdirected, or destroyed cards, or for technical issues with the QR code, website, or claim process.

Force Majeure. Sponsor is not responsible for any failure to award or deliver a prize, or for any delay, alteration, or cancellation of a trip or travel prize, caused by acts of God, weather, natural disaster, government action or regulation, military activity, terrorism, strikes, labor disputes, airline or venue cancellations, pandemic or public health restrictions, or any other circumstance beyond Sponsor's reasonable control. In such cases, Sponsor's sole obligation, if any, is to use commercially reasonable efforts to reschedule the affected prize or, at Sponsor's discretion, substitute a prize of comparable value.

11. Participating Brands

Prizes distributed through this Promotion may include products donated or provided by third-party manufacturers, brands, or members of the Travel Goods Association ("Participating Brands"). Selection of which Participating Brands' products are featured or given away is made by Sponsor at its sole discretion and does not constitute an endorsement, ranking, or preference of any Participating Brand over any other TGA member or non-member brand. Participating Brands have no role in administering the Promotion, determining winners, or fulfilling non-product prizes, and bear no responsibility for doing so.

Except for a Participating Brand's own express product warranty (if any), each Participating Brand is released, to the fullest extent permitted by law, from any liability, claim, injury, loss, or damage arising out of or related to this Promotion, including the manufacture, condition, use, or misuse of any product awarded as a prize, a claimant's participation in the Promotion, or the acts or omissions of Sponsor.

12. Limitation of Liability

By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any liability, injury, loss, or damage of any kind arising from participation in the Promotion or acceptance/use of a prize, including any travel prize.

13. Disputes

Entrants agree that any disputes arising from this Promotion will be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict of law principles.
