GSP & Tariffs UPDATE: Join the Webinar & RSVP for New Lobby Days

Published on July 11, 2025

Dear TGA Members,

GSP Lobby Days has been officially postponed to Fall 2025, with the Coalition currently gauging interest in new tentative dates: September 17–18 in Washington, D.C.

While we won’t be heading to Capitol Hill this summer, this timing could work in our favor — falling right between potential updates on tariff rates and growing interest in renewing trade preference programs that expire September 30. There's also discussion of a second reconciliation bill this fall, which could serve as a vehicle for GSP renewal.

To move forward with Lobby Days this fall, we are helping the Coalition to measure interest in attending. Whether you’re planning to attend, still deciding, or want updates from afar, let us know.

Submit your interest here.

What’s at Stake: $3 Billion in Extra Tariffs

Since GSP expired in 2020, U.S. companies have paid more than $3 billion in extra tariffs on GSP-eligible goods — and travel goods like backpacks, luggage, and handbags account for over half of that total. These avoidable costs continue to strain supply chains, drive up prices, and hurt our industry’s competitiveness.

Why This Matters

This July 22 webinar is more than just a policy update — it's a strategic opportunity to prepare for meaningful in-person advocacy this fall when it matters more than ever.

Get Involved Now:

  1. Register for the webinar
  2. Let us know if you're interested in attending Lobby Days (tentatively set for Sept. 17–18 by the Coalition, pending interest).

We strongly encourage all brands and retailers to attend both the webinar and Lobby Days. Together, we can push for the tariff relief our industry urgently needs.
